Lijiang,Guilin Travel

Posted by kevin under Guangxi, Travel - No Comments

As the elite the Guilin landscape. the Lijiang聽 River is a bright pearl among China`s beautiful mountains and rivers. Originated in Mao`er Mountain at Xing`an County. northeast of Guilin City. the Lijiang River winds its way southeast for about 437 kilometers via Guilin City. Yangshuo City to Gongcheng Estuary of Pingle County in Guangxi Province. The 84-kilometer-long segment from Guilin City to Yangshuo City resembles a green silk belt. winding among the peaks and the chains of mountains. The miraculous peaks. green mountains and blue waters mutually embellish. just as a 100-kilometer-long scroll. For several thousands of years. a great number of bookmen and scholars have been intoxicated with it. A segment of the mountains and waters of the Lijiang River are printed on the back of the new version paper currency RMB 20.

The voyage of the Lijiang River from the Guilin City to the Yangshuo City is about 83 kilometers. and it can be divided into the following three segments:

The first segment is from Guilin City to Yangdi (total 46km; 4 hours’ voyage). The scenic spots are a bit far from the waterway. The scenic spots near Guilin City include the Elephant Trunk Hill, the Pagoda Hill (Sword Hill), etc. Two hills named ” Chuanshan” on the east bank and ” Guishan” on the opposite west bank resemble a pair of fighting roosters.

The second segment is from Yangdi to Xingping (total 17km; 40 minutes’ voyage). This segment has the most beautiful landscape of waters and hills. Many scenic spots are on both banks of the Lijiang River. For example, the ferry precipices of the Half-Side Ferry seem cut by knife, which is seldom seen in the world; the peaks are standing upright on both banks and the flying waterfall is being suspended highly at the Erlang Gorge; the precipice of the Mural Hill is even straight as if cut by knife, interlaced and decorated with the colors of white, yellow, gray and black, etc. After boating out of the Siwang, one can see nine horses on the precipice of the Mural Hill, so it is commonly called as the Nine-Horse Painting.

The third segment is from Xingping to Yangshuo (total 20km; 2 hours’ voyage). When you can see the highest Green Lotus Peak in Yangshuo, you will reach Yangshuo City soon. Seen from the front side, the Green Lotus Peak is as smooth as a mirror, so it is also called the Jianshan (mirror hill).

One of the advantages to visit the Lijiang River is that the tourists do not need to worry about the change of the weather, since the views of the Lijiang River have different characteristics in different weather conditions: Tourists can view the inverted images of green peaks in sunny days ; view the clouds and mists covering the hills in overcast days and view the misty rain of the Lijiang River in rainy days. Even in the overcast and rainy days, the mist over the water is wreathing, the chain of mountains is gleaming, drifting clouds are moving among the miraculous peaks, and the rain curtain is covering the waters and hills as the lengthwise yarn, looking like many splash-ink watercolor paintings.(via MySpace.cn)

Only 60 km away from China`s huge capital Beijing there is this lovely little village called Chuandixia. This village is known for its well preserved 689 Ming and Qing dynasty-style houses owned by 76 families.

Posted by kevin under News, Travel - 1 Comment

My friends Peter likes tourism, whenever he is free he loves to travel around. He said that the pressure of work is big, travel to enable him to relax physically and mentally. He has been to Alaska, Xi鈥檃n, China, and other location. He likes photography, every place he would take a lot of photos, He will put these pictures on the Internet to share with friends,
http://www.flickr.com/photos/pccm/

He鈥檚 a very good photo shoot.
Last time I saw him, he said he would like to do a web site on tour and聽 hotel reservation, similar to Ctrip(http://www.ctrip.com/)
The establishment of such a site requires a great deal of work, such as web site development, Hotel information provider, Web site promotion etc. If there are appropriate resources, I suggested that he might try.
Of course, if I have time I will help him, because I like the development of the Internet site.

Now there are a lot of Internet hotel reservation sites. You know, looking for an affordable and beautiful hotel is not easy. I have found that a Web site, hotelscombined,聽 is to provide hotel price comparison service, the URL is聽 http://www.hotelscombined.com
This site provides us all on the hotel provided by the Web site, there is a price comparison, so that we can make better choices. We can search for hotel we need, and link to relevant sites to do hotel reservations. It can search for hotel from many web sites, such as hotels.com, Booking.com, TotalTourist.com, etc. We can search a specified hotel on the hotel page, for example, China Royal Hotel Macau:

http://www.hotelscombined.com/Hotel/Royal_Hotel_Macau.htm

This model is also worth considering, and this need to establish a good relationship with major travel sites. Therefore, the work needs to be done may be more. To consider what kind of model, we need well-considered. In any case, I hope he can achieve his dream.

Are you afraid traveling by air锛

Posted by kevin under News, Travel - No Comments

Traveling should be fun and not worry and trouble. So, before setting off for a journey be sure about the following.

-Your passport is up to date. (What shall you do if it expires the day you are flying off?)

-You have called the airport to verify you exist in their computer system.

-You bag is packed and nothing is left for the last moment (better buy a new toothbrush in order not to loose the old one in all that pre-traveling haste).

-If you’re carrying stuff with batteries pack it with the batteries out. This is especially safe of alarm clocks. Don’t give some poor security guard a heart attack.

-If you have a kid, take some book or game that will entertain him during the flight. Kids are mysterious creatures, better busy them with something in order they do not imagine themselves flying a fighter jet

-Get to the airport on time. (Not the least thing, by the way).

If you are afraid that you may feel bad on board, better visit your doctor. He will probably give you some special pills and definitely some pieces of advice (you can only hope both will help). Then, there is one more thing that may help you feel comfortable in the air – avoid caffeine and carbonated drinks, which can make you feel bloated.

Motion sickness is caused in part by a discrepancy between what you see and feel. (A car driver gets sick much less frequently. He is continuously watching the road, getting a good idea of what is coming next.) It may help to close your eyes the moment you start thinking about getting sick.

Also do not be worried about your oxygen. Keep in mind that airlines provide oxygen only while you are sitting in your seat, not in the airport. Thus, a non-stop flight is your best option. If that’s unavailable, look for a direct flight where the plane makes scheduled stops but you may remain on board. All airlines require advance arrangements when you’re traveling with your own oxygen equipment. Call the airport at least a month ahead, so you’ll have time for your doctor to complete any necessary paperwork. If the ticket agent can’t answer all of your questions, ask for the airline’s medical or special services departments.

One obvious problem that you face when traveling by air is lack of space. Though, this does vary from airplane model to airplane model. If you travel a lot, try different airlines and airplanes to determine your preferences.

If you are very tall, you may prefer an aisle seat. This will give you a chance to stretch your from time to time. Even better is to get a “bulkhead seat”: there is usually more legroom in those positions. Those seats go quickly; so it pays to book ahead.

When you travel without a companion you are bound to get into conversation with a near seated stranger. Unless you travel with a mouthful of water. If you a nervous person you better have someone to accompany you, because the better you are acquainted with someone, the harder it is to have your “personal space” violated.

At last you have got on board and the plane took off. Enjoy yourself and leave all your problems beneath. You may have a cup of coffee or tea, or some juice while reading. Dozing or resting your eye on the clouds under the wing is also relaxing. It is all good of course but what about a meal (especially if you had no time to though a sandwich into your mouth)? The food on airlines may not suit you (this is not a restaurant, guys) but is at least eatable. Though, if you have some dietary preferences, you should have mentioned them in advance to your travel agent. In this case the airlines will usually accommodate you.

If you have food allergies, you better bring your own food with you. (If you are a fussy eater, do the same, otherwise you will tire out the stewardess with your pretensions). Take care: many countries have import restrictions on foods; be sure you either finish the food you brought on the plane or make sure it will pass through the customs.

Many people have a fear of heights. Furthermore, for many people, not having any control of the plane makes the fear worse. This is not necessarily a rational fear, if looked at in the context of all possible hazards. Even if airplanes flew like bricks, the plane would cover quite a few horizontal miles before falling. But planes are not bricks. Furthermore, commercial jets always have at least two (and usually three) engines. The chances of two failing simultaneously are very slim. So relax. If you are still afraid of that iron flying monster, join the ranks of thousands and do what they do: get drunk before you get on the plane. Either travel by train bus or car (why do you think it is safer?). Or rather, if you are such a coward, stay at home and round yourself with cotton wool and sit in a safe.
